Rome 2 total war faction tier list4/5/2024 ![]() The emperor starts very young, so you will acquire fantastic stats/traits for all the fighting and you will see his sons come of age just in time to help dad fight Attila. You can get very attached to the Roman characters - you typically let your emperor, faction heir and one or two night fighter generals do all the fighting (you can't afford more than 4 legions or so at the start). That's with fighting almost every battle manually, though.Įngland, conversely, have a slower start because you'll probably want to first move north to take out Scotland, then head all the way back down to move against France. I can complete their long campaign on VH/VH with a turn count in the late 30s. It'll slow down your campaign to the point that early-game strength becomes less of a factor.įor example, I think of Venice as being an easy faction because they can expand in every direction in an area with high settlement density, have plentiful access to strong Italian militia, and a good economic base. I'm not sure many players go into a campaign with that kind of mindset given that Medieval 2 heavily punishes you for use of auto-resolve. The conditions for this list seem very specific the starting campaign difficulty of factions whilst only using auto-resolve. B/c their home islands are so safe it means they'll always have a guaranteed source of income to sponsor their wars. Their only real threats in the early game are the Byzantines who can be quickly neutered, the Egyptians who can also by destroyed early, and the Mongols who won't spawn until you've already had time to build up and kill off the Byzantines and Egyptians.Įngland - Isolated, only neighbor is OPM, and is free to conquer wherever they please after uniting the British Isles. Turks - Isolated, surrounded by rebel provinces, and easily defensible from the Europeans due to the Aegean Sea. The two nations I picked for top tier are the Turks and the English, and the reason why is stated below. This tier list was made disregarding unit type as I pretty much only play with auto-resolve, so it's pretty much entirely based on the starting Geo-political situation of the faction. ![]() ![]() Click here to set your flair!
